Dianne Giles heads to the Alabar Breeders Crown Graduate Mares Free For All chasing success with her grand pacer Sew What.

The six-year-old veteran of 104 starts has drawn barrier four and Giles is confident her girl is ready to go after suffering a skin condition which ruled her out for over a month.

“She’s looking great now,” Glies said.

“I had a bit of an issue with her with a skin condition, that’s why she has been off the scene for a few weeks. We have got that all cleared up, but she is looking terrific.”

Giles expects Sew What to need a bit of luck in the race, with the Emma Stewart-trained Treachery to start a warm favourite from barrier seven.

“She is going to need a bit of luck from the draw where she is out in no-man’s land, but as far as I’m concerned, she’s fit and ready to go,” the Melton trainer said.

The daughter of Western Terror’s last run came on October 7 at Melton in the Hip Pocket Workwear Pace over 2240m where she finished sixth behind Ever Hoping.

“She’s had a few issues over the last sort of season. She had an abscess, but I think that when she does have a bit of time off, she does come back better and likes to be fresh.

“But I have to be careful with her because she’s a little pudding. You only have to not work her for a week and she puts on the kilos.

“But she does benefit from the light weeks.”

Regular driver Jackie Barker will again team up with Sew What and Giles won’t have too much advice for the 27-year-old reinswoman.

“My message will just be to get a spot, to get across and get a spot,” she said.

“Don’t be trying to bustle too much early.”

Sew What is currently on the fourth line of betting at $8.50, with Treachery ($1.50), Tay Tay ($5) and Nonparriel ($5.50) well fancied in the market.
